Meet Penny – Your Perfect Lap Companion Breed: Pekingese / Chihuahua Mix (best guess!) Age: 11  Size: 12 lbs Temperament: Calm, Gentle, Loyal Special Needs: Mild spondylitis (wobbly hind end, but doesn’t slow her down much!) Penny is the definition of a low-maintenance lovebug. She’s been a dream houseguest for her foster mom, sleeping soundly through the night with no accidents and quietly keeping her  company while she works from home. Whether Penny's foster mom is on work calls or moving about the house, she’s content to nap nearby or gently follow along like a devoted little shadow. Penny has met other dogs with grace and calm. Penny prefers "parallel companionship" with other animals rather than active play, making her a great match for a home with another chill pet. She even passed the cat test with flying colors, treating them with complete indifference. She hasn’t met young children yet, but her sweet nature and gentle curiosity suggest she’d do just fine with respectful, older kids who can be mindful of her slower movements. Penny enjoys her walks but doesn’t rely on them for stimulation. She’s perfectly content as a couch potato. Her ideal day? Snoozing in your lap or beside you, soaking up the love. While she’s likely not used to being very active, she’s already blossoming and gaining confidence, and we think she might perk up even more with time in a loving home. She'd be especially perfect for a senior or quieter household looking for a calm, affectionate companion.  If you’re looking for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to share quiet moments, warm laps, and gentle affection, Penny is your girl. This little lady may be small, but she brings a whole lot of heart! ♥️

Adoption Process
Application Adoption Agreement which includes requirement to return dog if adopter can no longer provide care Adoption fee $300 All dogs spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Home visits at the discretion of VT Dog Rescue.
