Meet Bernard
IN VERMONT Meet puppy Bernard (of puppies Bernard & Rooster)! Puppy Bernard is 20+ weeks old, male (approx. DOB 1-26-25), 15+ lbs., (still growing) initial vetting done, not neutered (too young-must be done by Adopter/s per adoption agreement). Bernard and Rooster came from NC; their family lost their home in a hurricane in 2024 and were living in a camper. They have the cutest nub tails and are low riders! From their foster mom: "They are both crate trained, social with other dogs, cats, kids, babies, and men. Are excellent when left at home alone - short stints they are very self sufficient at home, no accidents and no destruction. They are teething, so need stimulus and things to do so they don't chew on anything vauable. They both know sit, the beginnings of come, and walk well on a leash. They are working on off leash commands like come (from a distance) and wait (for food). Both very food motivated, Bernard more than Rooster. Both extremely cuddly and sleeping through the night in separate crates with the door open. Rooster is more observant and can be more reserved - he likes for you to wait for him to ask to be picked up, vs. Bernard has no issues with being handled, picked up etc. They are averaging two (rapid fire!) poops 20-25 minutes after eating. they are both super affectionate with people (known and strangers) and love squeaky toys and other dog friends. They are super quick runners! They prefer wine tastings to breweries, but that could be their foster mom's bias " Bernard is a puppy that will require everything a baby puppy needs (frequent potty breaks, potty training, basic training, socialization, and lots of love). We do not know for sure what breed he is; but we were told one parent is a Corgi cross. An Adopter can have a DNA test done if preferred but we do not do DNA tests. Stay tuned for more information as puppy Bernard is a new rescue!
