VT Dog Rescue is a non-profit canine rescue focused on saving the Underdog. The sweet dogs who are passed over day after day simply because they are not perfect. Who is an underdog?- older dogs who are wise and love to snuggle- tri-pawed dogs who are happily enjoying life with 3 legs- shy dogs who need a little extra love to help them build confidence - dogs who may limp or have a physical limitation that humans see as a flaw, but they accept with dignity - dogs who are missing an eye and have adapted to navigate their world The Underdogs have, against all odds, retained their ability to be loyal and trusting companions who love us unconditionally. We believe the Underdogs, just like other shelter dogs, deserve to be rescued and placed in loving, responsible homes where they can shine.

“Fleck; like a spot of paint! is a 6 month old DOB: 8/14/2023 Heeler/Border Collie who weighs 25 lbs currently. Is social with dogs, with continued training will be great with farm animals not recommended with cats or children under 15yrs old. If you can believe it, he’s more brains than beauty, and boy is he cute! He is working on house training and crate training and hasn’t had an accident since his first day in foster! Fleck is a mix of two highly intelligent working breeds and it shows, he quickly learned how to wait at the door for the humans to exit and enter first as well as waiting for his meals. He knows sit, down, come, and learning by the second literally! Fleck plays fetch like a pro and will need a job in his forever home. Whether it’s agility, dog sports, or being your daily outdoor adventure partner. Fleck will require continued training with a professional to allow him to reach his potential and to train his new owner(s) to communicate with him successfully.” Fleck is a courtesy post, not a VT Dog Rescue dog.  VDR is assisting with helping Fleck find his forever home. Adoption Process
Application Adoption Agreement which includes requirement to return dog if adopter can no longer provide care Adoption fee $300 All dogs spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Home visits at the discretion of VT Dog Rescue.
