Passion 4 Paws

Mission Statement: Our Mission is to rescue homeless, abandoned, neglected, or abused dogs. By working with committed volunteers, already established veterinarians and trainers, we will nurture, provide medical care, and rehabilitation to these animals while providing a safe and loving "cage-free" environment for as long as it takes to find them adoptive homes. Our Vision: Our vision is to decrease the amount of dogs put to death every year, and prevent cruelty and suffering to all animals. Through humane education via our resources and educational classes, we aim to increase public awareness regarding the over population of adoptable animals in municipal shelters and beyond, and to that end we are firmly committed to:-Rescuing dogs from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized-Educating the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering of companion animals and micro-chipping pets-Advocating for animals through political participation with our Community representatives

Meet Penelope

IN VERMONT  Meet Penelope! https://youtu.be/fnvyz8E-h_A Penelope is 7 1/2 years old, female (approx. DOB 10-31-15), 44 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Poor Penelope got brought to the shelter with 5 other dogs; she lost her family.  In her SC Foster home: Penelope is a gentle and dainty girl who has impeccable manners and is as sweet as can be. Even though she is young, she can be trusted to roam the house without issues. She is very calm, potty trained, quiet, not destructive, and does not have any resource guarding issues. She has been great in a foster home with another dog and kids. She is even trusted enough to sleep in the bed with one of the kids.  She can be nervous of new people and new dogs and needs a slow introductions, but comes around very quickly.   Her ideal home could be an apartment or a house. She could be an only dog, but would ideally do better in a home with another mid to low energy dog to help her with her confidence. She is not a dog that would enjoy dog parks or any type of water activities, but she loves going on walks and car rides around town. She does like & enjoy other dogs after patient introductions (as always should be). She is extremely sensitive to correction and wants to please which makes her highly trainable. She is a fantastic all around great dog!  House trained  Dog, cat, and kid friendly  Walks great on a leash  Very sweet and loving   Not food aggressive   Not destructive (free roams the house)  Very Calm - low energy - quiet  Cautious & nervous of new people but warms up quickly  Great in the car  Not off-leash trained  Very easy keep Stay tuned for more information as Penelope is a new rescue!
