VT Dog Rescue

VT Dog Rescue is a non-profit canine rescue focused on saving the Underdog. The sweet dogs who are passed over day after day simply because they are not perfect. Who is an underdog?- older dogs who are wise and love to snuggle- tri-pawed dogs who are happily enjoying life with 3 legs- shy dogs who need a little extra love to help them build confidence - dogs who may limp or have a physical limitation that humans see as a flaw, but they accept with dignity - dogs who are missing an eye and have adapted to navigate their world The Underdogs have, against all odds, retained their ability to be loyal and trusting companions who love us unconditionally. We believe the Underdogs, just like other shelter dogs, deserve to be rescued and placed in loving, responsible homes where they can shine.

Meet Max

Courtesy Post - Rehoming   Maximus (a/k/a Max) is a  handsome 22 month old Black and Tan Coonhound.  He is in search of a new home to call his own.   Circumstances have changed for Max's Dad and he feels he can not give him the exercise and time he deserves.    Max has grown up in a home with another dog and gets along well with dogs of all sizes.  He has lots of energy and loves to play fetch.  Max has excellent recall and can be taken on a hike off leash.  He has mastered the following commands:  Sit, Down, Leave it, Shake and Paw.   He is food driven and likes to learn new things.      Due to Max’s energy, he would be best in a home with children over the age of 10.   Highlights about Max: Neutered Up to date on all vaccinations Gets along great with other dogs Smart Loyal Food Driven Great Recall Crate Trained House Trained   Max will come with his crate, fetching tools, toys and bed to his new home.   There is a $100 rehoming fee which will be donated to VT Dog Rescue.   If interested in learning more or adopting Max, please complete and submit an adoption application:   wwww.vtdogrescue.com/application   The current owner will be responsible for vetting applications and for the placement of Max.    Thank you for your interest!
