Meet Phoenix

Hello everyone..my name is Phoenix and all I want for Christmas is a family of my very own.  Are you looking for a super happy medium sized love bug who always wants to be by your side? Well then look no farther. I’m a 3 year old 42lb "mixed breed" who is as sweet as they come. If you're curious about the "mix"...we think there could be some boxer? but really, it's a mystery and probably at least a half dozen breeds in my DNA! I get along great with other dogs but what I really love.. Are people.  I would love nothing more than to snuggle up with you on the couch on a cold winter day.  And because I’m only 42 lbs I can actually fit in your lap.   Here’s a little bit about me.  I’m coming along with my potty training.  As long as you pay attention to my cues, I know that when I’m let outside it’s time to do my business.  I’m crate trained and I sleep through the night.  I’m working on my leash skills, I do tend to pull a little bit and I also have a habit of jumping up when you first come home.  I’m just so excited to see you.  My foster mom is working on that with me too. Training would be a great idea for me.  That way we can bond while I become the best doggie I can be.  Alright so let's talk about the elephant in the room.  As you can see I’m missing some patches of fur and there’s a large burn scar on my behind.  Let’s just say that humans haven’t been kind to me in the past.  Despite all I’ve been through I’m still as happy and friendly as they come and I sure am grateful that Rescue Rovers gave me a second chance.   So what kind of home would be best for me?  I would fit in just about anywhere.  I love all people but due to my jumping I’d probably do best with kids who are 8 or older.  I would do well with another dog but could also be your one and only.  Cats are a mystery because I’ve never met one.  What I want most in the world is a family who will give me all the snuggles and love.  If you feel like we’d be a good fit, apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication.
