Meet Ellie Mae
Ellie Mae is an extra big girl with an extra big heart! True to her breed, this 7-1/2 year old, 144# gal is a gentle and loving giant. She has an immeasurable amount of love and devotion for her people and would walk to the ends of the earth to find and be with them. Ellie is great around people, loves to lounge and get treats. She is really good on leash and has been enjoying 1-2 mile walks daily to help her get some fresh air and slim down her girlish figure, currently level walrus (but also the cutest walrus, ever!). Ellie is a sensitive girl who gets her feelings hurt pretty easily. She doesn't enjoy being isolated and can be trusted in the home while her people are away, only low-level howling when she feels extra left out. She is house trained and is happiest sleeping on a bed near her people at night. She would benefit from a semi-active life and a family who is committed to regulating her food intake and taking her on casual, daily walks. Ellie is good with other dogs, big and small. She is happiest with other easy going, non-reactive dogs and isn't super thrilled about bouncing or annoying puppies or dogs who want to mess with her easy-going zen. She would also be just fine as an only dog, getting all of the attention to herself. Ellie is fine with cats, however may have the random urge to chase. We are not sure if she's lived with cats before, however so far she's been pretty good with all of the dog-savvy cats in her foster home. Ellie's adoption fee is $200. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and is in good health. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks!
