SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Hank

LOCATION: Monroe, North CarolinaDOB: 02/16/2020 (Estimate)Say hey, good lookin' - what ya got cookin'?How's about cooking somethin' up with me?Meet Hank, short for Hank Williams - a true southern gentleman looking for a family to call his own. He’s a typical goofy velcro Dane. He thrives with human interaction. He has great manners, knows to sit, stay, and shake. Hank is potty trained, crate trained, and is not destructive when left out. Hank has done well in a crate for 8+ hours and has also done well snoozing on the couch while his foster family works. He recently had entropion eye surgery in both eyes, and is recovering well! This shouldn’t cause him any issues down the road. Hank is pretty low energy. Napping on the couch is one of his favorite parts of the day. However he’s ALWAYS up for a walk or a car ride! He is a pleasure to walk or run with, does not pull at all and trots along gracefully at whatever pace his human prefers. Hank is nonreactive to dogs and people when out on walks. When someone new comes into the house, we greet them with Hank on a leash and within a few sniffs, Hank warms right up with a lean and is asking for pets. He is doing well with his Great Dane foster sisters. He gets a little scared of dogs who are more hyper and in his face, so he’d probably do best with a lower-medium energy companion or a dog that is redirected easily. Hank gets fed separately in his crate, though there has not been any resource guarding tendencies shown. Hank hasn’t met any feline friends but he ignores little dogs, so I’m guessing his laid back attitude would allow him to coexist with cats. A home with kids 16+ would be ideal. Overall, Hank is a simple man looking to live a simple life with love and companionship!I'm free and ready, so we can go steady. How's about saving all your time for me?No more lookin' - I know I been tookin'Hows about keepin' steady company?========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at [email protected].
