American Boston Terrier Rescue

We are an all-volunteer; non-profit group dedicated to the health and well being of senior and special needs Boston Terriers. Our mission and main objective is to vet and responsibly re-home unwanted animals with a thorough pre-screening adoption program that includes checking vet and personal references as well as a home visit. Secondary objectives include pet education and decreasing the number of purebred animals being born. Our policy is that all dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption and educating our adopters on the importance of spay/neuter. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every senior and special need Boston Terrier has the chance to live the life they deserve. We are a small, dedicated group of Boston Terrier-loving volunteers based in North Texas who stay busy rescuing, training, transporting, vetting, coordinating and fundraising - all for the love of our chosen breed, the Boston Terrier. All Bostons that come into ABTR get fully vetted including but not limited to: heartworm testing and treatment if positive, they are spayed/neutered and placed into home environments to ensure a good fit into their new forever family homes. We will not turn away a senior or special need Boston in need as long as we have available space.ALL senior and special needs Bostons deserve a loving home. We accept all Bostons, regardless of age or health. (We will not accept dogs that exhibit human or dog aggression.)

Meet Diamond

Meet Diamond! Diamond was purchased by a kind man to get her out of a bad situation. He’s been working with her ever since to prepare her for a family of her own. Here are Diamond's details: She is a 5-month-old Olde English Bulldog puppy. She LOVES food, scratches, and attention. She's a little shy around new people and hesitant around new areas. She gets very excited around other dogs and jumps in their face but if they do much, she lays down immediately. She tests you when you tell her no, but then complies. (typical bully pup) She is leash trained She is crate trained She is mostly potty trained, but it's still a work in progress.  She will be spayed prior to adoption She’s had her puppy shots. She is located in the North Central Texas area. (Out-of-area adoptions considered for an approved adopter who is willing to travel to N Central Texas to pick her up.) Important note: Diamond is not an ABTRR dog, but we are working with her guardian to help place her in a wonderful home. ABTRR has committed to helping screen potential adopters to ensure her safety and a great match. Potential adopters must complete our online adoption application and be willing to undergo our screening and home visit process in order to adopt.

Adoption Process
We require all applicants to complete an application. All references are checked including vet reference. If the references check out then we move to a home visit. A volunteer from our organization goes into the home and inspects the home for safety and talks to the potential family about any questions or concerns that they have. Our Adoption Donation fee ranges from $175-$350 depending on the age of the dog. We do require an adoption contract to be signed by the adoptive family. All dogs are adopted only after their shots are current and they have been spayed/neutered.
