SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Pumpkin

Location: Frenchville, Pennsylvania We can transport anywhere!DOB: 5/1/2023This is “punkin” AKA PUMPKIN PIE. And she’s sweet as pie too! She is still very much a puppy in a large body!One day a very starved Great Dane puppy wandered up to a women’s house. The puppy had a huge thick chain that was embedded deep in her neck. The Good Samaritan took her to the vet where it had to be surgically removed. She has been housing the Dane in her garage. The Good Samaritan is 77 years old and now that Pumpkin is feeling better she is ALL PUPPY. We all know what that means! She does seem to want to learn how to do basic commands she just needs some guidance. Pumpkin is dog friendly with slow introductions! She is cat friendly and had zero reaction to the 'cat house' that she visited. Pumpkin is house trained and will go outside and do her business on command. She also knows sit, shake, treat, and bed. She’s working on stay. She will need help on her leash skills.She loves ALL PEOPLE!
