SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (we adopt nationwide)Age: 4/9/2022Whether you're working from home, unwinding with a movie, or heading to bed, he’ll be right by your side. He sleeps soundly at night as long as he’s close to his favorite human and thrives on companionship and connection.With a moderate energy level, Kobe enjoys bursts of play with toys, a good game of tug-of-war, and some gentle wrestling. What sets him apart is his expressive face—he frowns when you're busy, listens curiously when you talk, and breaks into a joyful smile the moment you walk through the door.Training & Behavior:Kobe is a dream on leash—he walks calmly without pulling and enjoys both quick strolls and long walks. He is fully potty trained but should be taken out promptly after waking to avoid accidents. While he is somewhat crate trained, he prefers to be in an open room where he can see his people or furry siblings.Cats & Other Dogs:Kobe does great with cats and is exceptionally gentle—even the grumpy ones seem to enjoy his presence. While he can coexist with female dogs, he generally prefers the company of humans and can be unsure around larger male dogs.Strangers & Children:Kobe has a protective streak and will bark at unfamiliar guests. He responds well to patience and treats, but for this reason, we’re looking for a low-traffic home without children.Health Notes:Kobe is neutered, fully vetted, and currently gaining weight after arriving in rough condition. He had to have his tail amputated, so now he sports an adorable little wiggly nub. He’s recovering well and on a steady path to a healthy weight. Uniquely, Kobe has a carrot allergy—yes, carrots!Ideal Home:Kobe would do best in a calm home where someone is around most of the day. He loves human connection and thrives with fur-siblings, especially cats or gentle female dogs. If you work from home or have a flexible schedule, Kobe may be your perfect match. He’s ready to be your loyal partner, your comfort, and your best friend.If you're ready to welcome a devoted companion into your life, Kobe is waiting to meet you.All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted.
