SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Lady Bird (Birdie)

LOCATION: West Fork, ARDOB: 11/18/2019Meet Birdie, a classic Great Dane with a heart full of love and a touch of sass. Currently living with six other dogs, Birdie is looking for a home with only one or two large male dogs. While she has only had altercations with one of the female dogs in her current home, we believe a home with just males would be best for her. She does need to be fed alone.Birdie is great with cats and children, and she bonds closely with her people. Her favorite person in her current home is the husband. When a stranger visits the house, Birdie will bark but warms up quickly. Her owners trust her fully with humans of all sorts. This excellent lady is house trained and has a doggy door to go in and out as she pleases. She’s never tried to escape the fence when unsupervised, granted it is 6ft tall. Birdie is not destructive, though she may destroy your pillow if left in a bedroom alone for too long. She does great on car rides and is used to daily walks.Birdie is a really great girl, and her family is devastated to part with her. She’s a classic Great Dane who can be sassy for attention but doesn’t bark much. If you can foster or foster-to-adopt Birdie, please let us know. She’s ready to bring joy and love into your home.========================= To apply to foster or adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at [email protected].
