SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Val

LOCATION: Hoxie, KSDOB:07/13/2020Meet Val, a showstopping harlequin Great Dane with presence, personality, and a whole lot of love to give. This striking XXL girl turns heads wherever she goes, and she's just as bold in spirit as she is in size. Val is on the lookout for a forever home that understands her needs—a space where she can shine solo or with one large male dog companion. No exceptions on that, but don’t worry—she gets along wonderfully with cats and absolutely adores children of all ages. Whether she’s romping around with teens or soaking up the attention from little ones, Val is gentle, fun, and always engaged. She’s the perfect mix of playful and well-mannered. Completely house trained and crate trained, Val understands the household routine and is happy to relax in her crate when you’re away. She's decent on a leash, though her excitement might get the best of her at the start of a walk—but give her a moment and she’ll settle in just fine. And if you're wondering about her favorite treat? Plain, unseasoned meatballs are the key to her heart.Make no mistake, Val is not your average Dane—she’s supersized in every way. She’ll need a 54-inch crate or a dedicated indoor kennel setup to feel comfortable, and don’t count on her squeezing into a sedan. An SUV is a must for travel with this gentle giant. She’s also got a curious streak and a talent for reaching anything within her considerable height, so tall counters and a tidy kitchen will go a long way in keeping things Val-proof.Val is the kind of dog who fills a home not just with her size, but with joy, loyalty, and affection. If you’re ready to share your space—and your meatballs—with a one-of-a-kind girl who’s equal parts strength and sweetness, Val is waiting to meet you.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at [email protected].
