Almost Home Pet Rescue

We are a foster based, no kill and all volunteer rescue. We are dedicated to saving as many lives as possible from Houston's street and high kill shelters. All of our animals live in foster homes until they are adopted, we can therefore tell you a lot about their personality, likes/ dislikes and any training.

Meet CALLA-LILY

Estimated dob: 2/5/2022, female, chi mix, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, chipped and heartworm negative , currently 8 lbs   Sweet Calla was spotted running around the median of a very busy road in the Katy area on Easter Monday - hence the name, Calla-Lily. It took the whole day and several volunteers to get this tiny girl to safety. She had no collar and tags, no microchip, and there were no homes anywhere near her………..just this sweet girl and a fluffy red blanket. She was malnourished, flea ridden, and absolutely terrified. She has been allowed to decompress quietly in her foster home and is now beginning to come out of her shell. She loves to dance around playfully, licking her lips when it is time for dinner (It is the cutest thing to see). She follows her foster mama around and loves to snuggle on the sofa in the evenings. She is still a little, wary around the teenage kids in her foster home, but she will approach them and give them a little kiss before running off again.   We believe that with a little more time, and a dog savvy, family she will blossom into a lovely family pet. She is potty trained (however, please expect an adjustment period while she learns your routine). She sleeps well, and quietly in her crate, but we are sure that she would prefer to snuggle with her special person. She is just now starting to take an interest in other dogs in her foster home.   We feel that she would do best as either a lone dog, or with a more confident doggie sibling who will help her to gain confidence. We are looking for a home where there are no children under 10 years old. Please consider making this beautiful dog a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :   Apply Now (almosthomepetrescue.org) $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes
