SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Kobe

LOCATION: Charlotte, NCDOB: 04/09/2022We adopt nationwideMeet Kobe, a gentle-hearted Great Dane with a deep soul and an even deeper loyalty. He’s a true Velcro Dane who wants nothing more than to be at your side through life’s every moment—whether you're lounging on the couch, running errands, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. At bedtime, he’ll curl up right beside you and sleep peacefully through the night, as long as he knows you’re near.Kobe is affectionate, expressive, and wonderfully intuitive. He listens with those wise eyes and wears his heart on his face—frowning when you’re distracted, perking up when you need comfort, and breaking into a full-toothed smile when you walk back into the room, even if you only left for five minutes. When he’s excited, he twirls in happy little circles, overwhelmed by the joy he feels just being with his people. He loves toys, gentle playtime, and is especially proud of his tug-of-war skills. He’s also incredibly cooperative at bath time and a dream on leash—no pulling, just calm, curious strolls by your side. Car rides? He’s your ride-or-die co-pilot, eager for every adventure. He’s house trained, knows how to sit and shake for treats, and is always ready to learn something new if it means pleasing his human.Kobe is a devoted companion to cats, even the grumpy ones, and forms deep bonds with his feline friends. He can coexist with female dogs, but gets nervous around large male dogs and does best with a calm, balanced environment. While he may bark or growl when meeting new people, it’s more conversation than concern, and with a little patience (and a treat), he warms up quickly and lovingly. He especially adores men and was quick to bond with his foster’s adult son.He doesn’t like being left alone for long and truly struggles with closed-in spaces like kennels. He’s much more comfortable in an open room where he can see or hear his people—or at least have a cat friend nearby. He’s comforted by the background hum of the news and will gladly snooze or wait patiently if he knows you're close. Because of previous malnutrition, Kobe is food-focused and does best being fed separately, but he’s gaining weight steadily and growing stronger every day.Kobe’s ideal home is one where someone is around more often than not—a work-from-home setup would be perfect—or at least a place with animal companions and space to roam freely without feeling confined. He needs time, trust, and love, and in return, he offers unwavering loyalty, endless snuggles, and a heart that lives for you and you alone.Kobe is ready to be your shadow, your cheerleader, your confidant, and your best friend. Whether you’re starting your day or ending it, folding laundry or walking the block, Kobe will be right there with you—tail gently wagging, eyes full of love, and his whole heart in your hands.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at [email protected].
