Meet Kaya

**COURTESY POST** Seeking a new home or rescue placement for Kaya, a beautiful merle Australian Shepherd ‘Aussie’ female approximately 4 1/2 years old. (Although she isn’t registered, and it's not known if she is purebred, one Aussie rescue contacted felt she appeared 'fairly full’ Aussie.) Kaya weighs about 50 lbs., is spayed, and house-trained. She is currently living in Quinlan, TX. Kaya has lived with the same family since she was a puppy. Unfortunately, Kaya has not adjusted well to a new baby in the home and has become very unpredictable (and a bit too aggressive) where baby is concerned. Time and trying haven’t seemed to help…It’s been a year and now that the baby is up and walking, the situation has become unsustainable. Kaya is very attached to Mom, so jealousy is very likely a factor. Kaya has lived with both cats, dogs, and also another child. However, since the current issue is with the baby, she is probably not recommended for a family with young kids. As a herding dog, Kaya would do well in a more rural setting with plenty of outside space to run and play. Kaya can take a little time to warm up to strangers, but once you are one of her ‘peeps’, she is a loyal friend who loves to cuddle… albeit in her own ‘wiggle worm’ sort of way.
