Meet Chilton

Hi! My name is Chilton! I am a handsome 2 year old muscular brindle boy! Not much of my background is known but I've moved past that and am looking forward to the good life! I am house trained, crate trained and great with humans! I do have some separation anxiety, so I prefer to be with humans over being in the crate. I am great with young or older humans, but due to my size and that I like to use my paws for attention, my foster mom believes I would do best with elementary aged kids and older. Although I am discovering toys, I am pretty chill and relaxed in the home. I live with another resident dog and when we are outside, I have a strong play style with him. If there is a dog companion in my forever home, I need one that is tolerant of my play style. I am unsure how I do with cats, so a proper introduction is recommended. I am good on leash, but I could use some additional training with it! I am respectful of the human furniture but will try to get in the human's lap if given the chance because I am very affectionate! I am an easy going boy, but due to my size and play nature, an experienced dog owner would suit me best! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you! If you're interested in fostering a dog, please fill out the Foster Application  https://austinboxerrescue.com/ways-to-help/foster/  If you're interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the Adoption Application http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home.

Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner) Boxers (1-5 years) = $275 Adult Boxer Mix (1-5 years) = $175 Mixed Puppies (under 1 year) = $250 Pure Breed Puppies (under 1 yr) = $400 Bonded Pairs under 5 yrs (placed together) = $425 Bonded Pairs over 5 yrs (placed together) = $250 Non-boxers (any age) = $100 Senior Dogs (6-9 years) = $175 Boxers Seeking Permanent Fosters or Silver Hearts (10+ years) = NO FEE
