Pepeta is estimated to be 3 years old. She is a herding dog like a catahoula/Australian cattle dog mix of sort. She is highly intelligent and a fast learner. She is treat driven, high energy, loves to fetch and play. She needs toys for strong chewers. She does not destroy anything in the house, is potty trained and doggy door trained. She never barks at the neighbors dogs even when they bark at her. She is lovable and sleeps with her human in the bed or on her dog pillow. We are unsure how she is around small children or cats so would be best to be around older children and adults. She does have some resource guarding with food, treats and toys around other dogs and will need to be introducing slowly to other dogs. We are unaware if she has been crate trained. She is current on all shots and takes Heartworm medicine every month. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225 . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.
Adoption Process
Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested
All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped.
Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200.
We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
