Meet Ollie IV (New Digs)
Ollie is 5 years old. He weighs 75 lbs. He has a beautiful brindle coat. He is a mix of Labrador, German Shepherd and Great Dane. He is gentle like a lab, bark like a German shepherd and run like a Great Dane. He is generally very laid back but gets excited when someone is at the door. He is very friendly and never met a stranger. He was found abandoned with his sister 5 years ago. We have had him since he was about 8 weeks old. His estimated birthday is April 1st. He is a very healthy dog who loves to run in the backyard. He has never had any health issues. He is up to date on all vaccinations including Rabies, Bordetella, heart worm, Canine Distemper, Adenovirus type 2 (including hepatitis), Parainfluenza virus, and Parvovirus. He gets the tick and flea treatment very 6 months. Ollie loves the dog park and daily walks. He loves an open field where he can just run. He is very playful and loves to race you if you run alongside him. His best friend is Minnie a chihuahua. He loves playing with Minnie and other dogs of all sizes at the dog park. He loves kids and has happily put up with being hugged and snuggled all his life. He has never snapped or been careless around babies and toddlers. He is curious about babies but gives them their space. He loves playing tug of war with older kids and fetching toys. Not a big fan of water but would happily be out there with the kids when they are playing in the sprinkler. Ollie is very laid back but would need someone who can take on daily walks or at least to the dog park once a week. Having a backyard is a plus but not required as he will be tired after his walk or trip to the dog park. He loves being cuddled and belly scratched. He is trained not to climb on the furniture but I can see him cuddling on the couch if you allow him. Ollie is crate trained. He sleeps in his kennel all night. We started this practice when he was little since we had a toddler at home. He will let you know when he is ready to come out in the morning. He is usually in the kennel from 10 pm to 7 am. He is housebroken and walks on leash with treat enforcement. Sometimes he tries to pull away if he sees a bird or a squirrel. If you run with for a little bit at the beginning of the walk, he gets tired and wonât pull on the leash as much. We are looking to rehome Ollie due to ongoing health issues. We are hoping to find someone who allows occasional visits and even board with us if youâd like, when you go out of town or need a break. Ollie is an excellent family dog. He will make a great outdoor companion and a great snuggle buddy on the couch. He is a very gentle soul but he also a great protector with his fierce bark.
