Meet Annie III
4/23/2024Annie III is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Annie III! I am a 2-year-old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to being found as a stray and my current caretaker is unable to keep me. I was found very malnourished and appeared to be over-bred. Because my current caretaker is unable to keep me, I temporarily live at her work (veterinarian office). I am described as friendly, calm, noisy, affectionate, and nervous. I do not like to be away from humans. If I'm close to them I will comfortably sleep but if left alone, I will bark and cry. I am working on house training and occasionally still have accidents. I seem interested in other dogs but have not had proper exposure to dogs or kids, so a proper introduction would be needed for them. I had exposure in my caretaker’s house with cats in which I tried to get very close to and chase them and if I got too close they would swat and hiss at me and I would squeal. A proper introduction with cats would be encouraged as well. When I get excited, I will nip and jump to try to lick your face. I will need assistance with crate training if that is what is required in my forever home. When the humans must be away and I am left alone, I bark a lot and occasionally have an accident. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences or gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, cuddling, attention from people, food, and affection! My current caretaker says I am “a very sweet girl and deserves a second chance with an owner who will train me to be my best”. If you think you could be my forever family and will patiently help me to be an even better girl, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows:
Fill out an Online Adoption Application below.
Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually.
After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process.
Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date.
Every dog adopted will have the following:
Current on vaccinations and dewormed
Spayed or neutered
Will be micro chipped
Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention
Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner)
