SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

LOCATION: Parkesburg, PADOB:12/15/2024Meet Lette – a sweet, black Great Dane/Shepherd mix with soft eyes, a gentle heart, and a playful spirit. She's the perfect mix of cuddle buddy and backyard adventurer, always ready to chase a bunny, trot along on a walk, or sneak into bed before you do.Lette has a moderate energy level—she loves to move and explore but knows how to settle down when it’s time to relax. She’s house trained, crate trained, great on leash, and rides well in the car. She picks up on basic commands quickly and listens well once she knows what’s expected.She’s a little shy with new people at first and startles easily on walks, but give her a few minutes and she’ll warm up, especially if you let her come to you. Vacuums are definitely not her thing, but chew toys, walks, and sniffing around the yard? Total favorites.Lette has met other dogs—both big and small—and would enjoy having a playful dog friend in the home. She’s been respectful of the resident cat and seems like she could do well with feline roommates, especially with slow introductions. She hasn’t been around kids in her foster home, but she’s been calm and loving with seniors and seems to be open to affection from anyone who’s kind and patient.This girl thrives with routine, kindness, and space to stretch her legs. A fenced yard where she can run and explore would be ideal for her, and a home that lets her build trust at her own pace will be rewarded with a loyal, loving, funny companion.Lette may not be the life of the party, but she’s the one who’ll be by your side once everyone else has gone home.
