SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Duke

LOCATION: Durant, OklahomaDOB: 09/05/2017Duke is a really laid back older gentleman who loves to nap, unless he is playing with his rawhide bone, which he LOVES!This funny and beautiful boy uses his foot to show his excitement - along with his tail. He rides well in the car and does great on a lead. He loves his furry foster siblings who are much smaller than him and he has shown no aggression even to the big dogs next door (basically just ignores them). He was a good boy at the vet, but seems to shy away from men (vet was a man). After a couple of days, he decided his foster poppa wasn’t going to hurt him and now is just fine. He is very food motivated and will tend to overeat if given the opportunity. Mostly he sleeps all night on the couch but the pantry door and trashcan need to be shut. One night he did a pantry raid and ate a bag of jerky and a package of cookies. Oops! You can rest easy knowing your lawn and landscaping are safe in Duke’s hands. He is not a digger but he sure does love to roll around in the soft grass. His previous owner said he was good with kids but chased their goats so no livestock, no cat home would be good. He doesn’t love his crate, but will use one if needed. He would rather prefer to lay on your pillows.Duke is a special boy looking for a forever home. He will surely bring laughter and light and his inner spirit mimics his outer beauty. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at [email protected].
