Hello my name is: Empress My nickname is: Prissy My breed is: Pyr/pyr mix My age is: Best guess is 6 months My favorite thing to eat is: Chicken nuggets! And cardboard boxes, haha. Oh yeah, and beef bones! My favorite thing to play with is: my foster brother, a black lab mix. He is 2 years old so he has tons of energy for me! My funniest quirk is: I love to kick and throw bones around with my mouth, playing soccer and fetch with myself. My fosters think this is HA-larious! What do I get in trouble for: I’m a chewer! If you leave it out-- it has my name on it! But don’t worry, I’m learning to tell the difference between my chew toys and other’s possessions. What I dislike the most: I’m still a bit skittish. Changes in routine, loud noises, and large objects are scary! And I’m not a fan of walks just yet. The fosters are working on me. What makes me unique: I am pretty high energy! I can wrestle and run around with my foster brother for hours. Where do I sleep: On my doggy bed. I prefer to have it in a corner so I feel safe. Do I love car rides: Nope! Not a fan right now. This may change, but I get anxious and car sick Where’s my favorite place to go: Unsure. I’m a newbie so my fosters are still figuring me out Do I like cats: Unknown How I feel about my crate: Still deciding ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters located outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to an independent transport service ($250). GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade. Our volunteers have over 100 years combined experience fostering, screening, and placing this majestic breed into loving, forever homes. When adopting from us, you can rest assured that we provide life-long support and advice when it comes to your new family member. As always, our purpose is to find the best match for every unique dog that comes through our doors.
