Meet Deuce Biggalow
5/8/2024Deuce Biggalow is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Deuce Biggalow! I am a handsome 8-year-old flashy brindle boy that is an owner surrender due to my original owner being unable to care for me and the family feels it is best to find me a more caring home. I am described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, and affectionate! Although I’m an older boy, I still love to play, bark (it doesn’t last long), and am active! I am said to be kid and dog friendly! I do not currently live with kids but live with resident dogs and get along with them well! I am not a fan of cats or squirrels, so a cat free home is needed. I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep in a crate. When the humans must be away, I whine initially but am fine afterwards. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am fearful of loud sounds (thunderstorms and fireworks) so I use a thunder jacket and over the counter calming products to help ease my fear. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, stuffed animals, playing fetch, zoomies, snuggles, and attention from the humans! My current family says I am a “very loving and sweet dog” that is “goofy and has brought the family a lot of joy”. If you think I would be a good fit for your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows:
Fill out an Online Adoption Application below.
Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually.
After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process.
Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date.
Every dog adopted will have the following:
Current on vaccinations and dewormed
Spayed or neutered
Will be micro chipped
Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention
Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner)
