Happy Dog Rescue

We partner with rescue groups and shelters across the South to rehome southern dogs with loving families. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they’re found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all our goldens’ temperaments and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. Their health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and spayed or neutered. Then we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.

Meet Gracie

To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Gracie is a 1yo female beagle mix who was rescued as a stray in rural TN.  Friendly, well-socialized, affectionate, happy temperament.  High activity level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Still has a lot of puppy left in her!   Friendly with people, even strangers. Great with kids, cats and other dogs.  Crate trained and housebroken. Uses the doggy door. Loves to be with her people.   Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 25 pounds.  AWESOME young beagle mix will make a wonderful companion for an active family who loves the breed. Here’s a note from her foster mom:  Gracie is very smart, learned the doggie door in an hour and no messes in the house. Gets along great with the other 5 dogs and 4 cats who share our lives.  We do not have children but took her to the flea market where she got lots of pets from children and gave them kisses.  Only two drawbacks at this point are she doesn't like the cows across the road and she’s a slave to her nose - LOL.   She loves everybody she meets but still barks at the cows, even when we're riding in the car and she sees them out the window!  She enjoys riding in the car, loves other dogs (especially poor Walter), thinks the cats are cool (even though they hate her), will steal your toilet paper roll and decorate the house with it, and is a bundle of love and energy.  She will sit and stay on command, takes treats from your hand very gently and walks fairly well on a leash.  Gracie would make a great pet for a family or a single active person.
