Meet MISHKA (Spayed!)
MISHKA and her two siblings are listed as Shepherd mixes. The three puppies were estimated at 12 weeks of age when they arrived in mid April 2025. The three darlings had skin issues upon arrival that resulted in the loss of their fur. Staff treated them successfully for that condition and they are now looking fabulous since all of their fur has returned! One has been adopted and the other two puppies romp and play whenever they are not sleeping or eating and they devour all of the attention they can get from staff! What a surprise! They have already learned how to charm the people around them and use it to their advantage. Thanks to a partnership between UT and Cumberland County Animal Shelter, MISHKA was spayed on Tuesday, June 3. As a result, she can go home the same day that she is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and a leash with you to the appointment in case you do decide to adopt MISHKA or one of the other spayed or neutered dogs currently at the shelter. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
