Meet Poppi

Howdy… my name’s Poppi. Folks call me a “cowboy corgi” ‘cause I’m part Heeler, part Corgi, and all spirit. You’d never guess I’m only eleven months old with the miles I’ve walked. Truth is, my life started with a hard trail. I was just a baby—barely three months old—when I found myself alone on the streets of Memphis after being adopted. Cold sidewalks for a bed, empty air where love should’ve been. And then came the day. The day they told me was my last. But instead of silence, a hand reached out. They saved me. I don’t know why I got lucky when so many don’t… but I’ve carried that gratitude in my heart every single day since. Now I’m 41 pounds of sunshine wrapped in fur. I will be spayed very soon. Sweet as sugar, happy as a pup can be. I love people, love other dogs, and my tail just can’t quit when I’ve got company. Water? Oh, don’t get me started—I’ll splash, swim, and play ‘til the sun goes down. Life is a gift, and I want to taste every drop of it. But here’s the part that weighs heavy on me: I’ve already known what it feels like to be abandoned. To be left behind when all you want is to belong. I dream of a family who won’t do that to me. A family who’ll take me along for adventures, who’ll let me ride shotgun in their hearts and maybe even in their car. I don’t need much—just love, a safe place to rest, and a promise that this time, I won’t be forgotten. Can you be that promise? Yours truly,Poppi *Guest Posting*   If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at [email protected] or 865-236-0830.
