She has met all the neighbors on her walks and was polite and friendly to everyone she met. She responds eagerly when strangers pet and talk to her.  She barks appropriately when someone comes to the door, otherwise she is quiet.   Her favorite place is sitting in a sunbeam indoors or out.  She will happily sit on your lap and loves to swing on the glider outside. When she is ready for bed she voluntarily goes into her kennel.  She has been treated for a skin condition which has cleared up. Potty training is about 90% in the grass. Is you are looking for a gracious older lady then you have found her. Our must haves for her are: Fenced in yard is best Another adult to senior small dog to pal around with(male or female) she is fine with both Someone that can be home most of the time No apartment, condos or high rises This little girl is beautiful inside and out, don’t wait too long she will be gone in no time and you will lose out.     ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.  We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process is documented on our website at: http://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/info/adoption We do check all references including vet and a home visit is conducted for each animal adoption unless the adopter has previously adopted and there have been no changes or large lapse of time.
