Meet TUM TUM (Neutered!)
TUM TUM is a good looking and friendly male dog, listed as a labrador mix, about one year old and weighing 47 beautiful pounds. He arrived at the shelter in late May 2025 and has already been paired successfully with another male dog. Since space is always tight at the shelter, that is good for him and for the staff who work hard to make room for all of the incoming animals. So, the sooner this boy is adopted, the better! You can tell that staff must like him a lot, as they have already managed to get him neutered on Tuesday, June 3, thanks to the partnership between UT and Cumberland County Animal Shelter. As a result, TUM TUM can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the appointment in case you do decide to adopt TUM TUM or one of the other spade or neutered dogs currently at the shelter. Even better, take a dog great with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
