Meet PACO (Neutered!)
PACO is an adult male Chihuahua. He arrived at the shelter in mid May 2025 along with another Chihuahua. The two had been running loose and were picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. His Intake weight was 18 pounds and he is younger than the female dog, possibly around 5 to 6 years of age. That is a guesstimate, of course! PACO is a friendly and sweet fellow. According to his paperwork, he has already been neutered. That means that he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt PACO or one of the other spayed or neutered dogs currently at the shelter. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
