Meet JASMINE
JASMINE is listed as a two year-old female bulldog mix with an intake weight of 40 pounds. She arrived at the shelter at the end of February 2025 along with eight other dogs that were immediately put on a court hold. Someone had left them behind on a property that they vacated and the dogs were tied up and not being fed. Another person alerted animal control staff at the sheriffs department and they were able to get authorization to rescue the dogs and take them to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter. The dogs have now been released from court hold and have put on a good amount of weight since they arrived at the Shelter. None of the dogs has been spayed or neutered. That must be done before the one you adopt can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
