Humane Society of Washington County, TN

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society promotes Spay/Neuter and we assist individuals who cannot afford that for their pet. We also pull animals from our local animal shelter and place them in foster care, give them any medical attention they need, spay/neuter prior to adoptions. We also, review craigslist on a daily basis and contact individuals listing "free" puppies, dogs, cats and kittens in an effort to get them to surrender to us and attempt to educate these individuals about spay/neuter and the danger of listing free animals. Along with our foster animals, we take animals currently residing in our local shelter to adoption events. We have a goal and are working with our Animal Control Board/local shelter to become a no-kill community.

Meet Emmy

Emmy is a very sweet, social puppy. She is good with other dogs and children. She loves to be with people and knows commands such as sit, down, leave it, and come. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. She also enjoys going walking, playing at the dog park, and even loves hiking! Emmy is currently enrolled in puppy obedience class at Petsmart and is very eager to learn. She is definitely an intelligent girl. She's still working on being housebroken and has not been crate trained, though we feel she would be a very quick learner with some patience and reassurance. Emmy would make an excellent companion for another person or dog. She prefers to not be alone and thrives in the presence of others.    This is a Courtesy Listing only.  Postings are provided as a courtesy by AHHS to guardians re-homing their pets.
