Shelter Animals Rescue Group

Our organization is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit, formed in 1996 to help save adoptable dogs and cats from euthanization at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. We specialize in mixed breeds. Our shelter is often filled with very adoptable animals that must die because of space limitations, and we are devoted to giving a second chance to as many as we can. We house our animals in foster homes or boarding kennels for as long as it takes to find them permanent homes. We participate in numerous community events to promote our animals and the concept of adoption/rescue.

Meet Rocco

Rocco has been in his foster for several weeks. He is a short-haired Chihuahua about three years old and weighs nine pounds. Rocco gets along well with the other two Chihuahuas in the home. He is sweet, energetic, and likes to cuddle with you on the sofa, and he is almost house-trained. He needs to go to a loving home with older children to give him plenty of attention. Rocco enjoys his toys and likes to dig them out of the toy box. He is an excellent eater and is very inquisitive. Adoption information at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt

Adoption Process
Application form, phone or personal interview, home visit, vet and personal references, adoption fee $125 dogs / $85 cats. Contract specifying that animals must be primarily indoor pets, dogs leashed or fenced; no declawing of cats, and that they cannot be passed on to others but must be returned to SARG if given up for any reason.
