Meet Cypress
Meet Cypress! He is a lovable low-rider — a small guy with short legs, a big heart and the kind of charm that sneaks up on you. When Cypress came to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center, a first-of-a-kind facility dedicated to rehabilitating fearful dogs, he was struggling to interact with the world. After learning that leashes lead to adventures and people can be pretty great, he’s ready for a home to call his own. Cypress would thrive with an adopter who can support him through his transition and can keep up with his love for walks, drives, swimming and all kinds of play. Cypress is a happy boy who enjoys solo zoomies, playdates with dog friends (with slow introductions) and training sessions — especially if cheese is involved! He can get a little protective over food around other dogs, so he prefers to enjoy his treats solo. He may need a lift into taller cars, but once he’s in, he’s all smiles! Though Cypress has made a lot of progress with us, and he enjoys being social and affectionate, new environments can still be scary. He will flourish with someone who can go at his pace and help him feel safe and loved. In return, he’ll offer you his full heart, a few squeaky toys and plenty of tail wags. Cypress would love an adopter who can keep up with his energetic side, but who also has some cozy dog beds to lounge on. He’d like some squeaky toys, a good bone to chew on, a few tasty treats and — most importantly — you! Is that too much to ask?
