Meet Godiva - SWEET AS HER NAME

They named me Godiva, and I suppose it fits. I’m soft, sweet, and meant to be cherished—like a fine piece of chocolate you’d never dream of tossing away. But somehow, somewhere along the line, I was. I don’t remember when it happened. One day I was loved—at least I think I was—and the next I was out in the world alone. My coat, once silky, grew dull with neglect. My body ached, and my heart carried a quiet fear: maybe no one would ever want me again. When the shelter took me in, I was trembling. Everything was loud and strange. But the kind people here gave me time. They healed my body, and slowly, they began to heal my spirit. Now, my fawn coat shines again, smooth as silk. And though I was once so scared, I’ve learned that with patience and gentleness, my heart will open wide but for some reason, I am now the longest resident at this shelter. I’m four and a half years old, 49 pounds of tender soul. I get along well with other dogs and would love a friend to romp with. When you take me walking, I might tug a little at first—I can’t help it, I’m eager to explore—but soon enough, I’ll match your steps, happy just to be near you. What I want is simple: a forever love. A home where introductions are kind, where patience is plentiful, and where my days are filled with trust, belly rubs, and the peace of knowing I’ll never be abandoned again. So, if you’re searching for something truly sweet, not wrapped in gold foil but wrapped in fur and devotion… here I am. My name is Godiva, and I’m ready to be yours. Sweet Kisses,Godiva *Guest Posting**You can foster to adopt, foster or foster to adopt!* If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at [email protected] or 865-236-0830.
