Meet Bella
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Bella is a 3yo female purebred Sharpei who was surrendered by her owner in Memphis who could no longer care for her. Calm, low energy, low maintenance. Typical sharpei temperament… independent, aloof, wary of strangers, selective of dog buddies, loyal, intelligent with a high prey drive (cats and some small dogs). Bella had been kept outside her whole life by her owner who was gone for long hours but she quickly learned to enjoy living in the house with her foster family. Housebroken and crate trained. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Not recommended for cats because she likes to chase them. Bella is being fostered with several smaller dog and sometimes she will chase a couple of them, she’ll play with some of them and tolerates a small male who won’t stop humping her! Bella has no history with kids so she is recommended for dog-savvy kids aged 12 and older. Initially, Bella tested positive for heartworms but she was treated without complications and cured. In addition, she had entropian both eyes but surgery was done to correct this condition.. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds. Bella is a sweet girl who has had a hard life but those days are over. She will make a wonderful companion for a family who loves the breed.
