Almost Home Animal Rescue

Almost Home Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization made up solely of volunteers. Our primary purpose is to rescue mistreated or homeless animals and place them in loving environments. We hope to bring about a significant change in the treatment of all animals through educational programs and by working closely with other rescue organizations and sanctuaries.Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation. No animal is expendable! We strive to give animals the safe and happy life they deserve.

Meet Bruce

Bruce is a five and a half year old lab mix, about 60 lbs, He has no tail. Not sure if he was born that way or it was removed when he was a puppy. He loves all toys, especially balls. He knows basic commands and is great with other dogs. Not alpha. He not only brings you toys and balls to play fetch, but he keeps moving it towards you until you do throw it. If you do not play with him, he will just toss it around by himself. He is very athletic and very smart. Very happy boy. He likes to sleep with you. Until he gets hot. Then he is happy in the floor. He loves car rides and doing whatever you are doing. He would love to have an active family and a canine friend who likes to play. He needs a fenced yard but, must be left inside when you leave. It is due to mild separation anxiety, but he is not destructive. Give him a chew bone that will last a while and he is fine while you are gone. If left outside when you leave, he will jump the fence and try to follow you. A five+ foot fence or electric fencing would solve this problem. He is climber, not a digger. Bruce's front teeth have been worn down by chewing. It does not stop him from chewing, eating, and playing tug o war. He is housebroken. He is neutered, totally vetted, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on preventives. If you would like more information or would like to meet Bruce, please contact Judy at [email protected] or 865-300-8146. ADOPTION FEE: $100 Please fill out an adoption application on www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, contact Judy above and she will email it to you in a different format.
