Grainger County Humane Society

The Grainger County Humane Society receives NO funding from our local government or other outside sources. The humane society exists on donations from private individuals and businesses, and volunteer effort. We DO NOT have an animal shelter or an Animal Control Officer at this time. All work is done by volunteers. A Spay/Neuter Clinic is our immediate goal. A Shelter/Adoption Facility and an Animal Control officer are part of our long term goals.

Meet R litter

Diamond and Ricie are Cattle Dog sisters. They were reported to GCHS as strays in the Bean Station area that had a litter of pups under a house trailer.  Upon volunteers arriving, it was determined that both sisters had had litters under the trailer within hours of each other. 19 healthy puppies approximately 48 hours old were recovered.  Jefferson City Humane Society and Blount County Humane Society assisted in fostering/rehoming moms and some of the puppies!    GCHS fostered these 5 cuties, and they are ready for adoption!  Meet Reese, Rain and their 3 brothers Roan, Riker and Ransom.  Approximate birthday 12/01/23.  Pups get along great with each other and love to run and play.  Full of energy, they are outgoing and don't shy away from people or other dogs.  Mothers were very outgoing and had a great disposition and just loved humane attention.  Puppies love it too!

Adoption Process
Adopters must fill out an Adoption Contract, animals are spayed/neutered and current on applicable vaccinations. Adoption fee is $100.00
