She is doing great since her surgery and has tons of energy. She loves squeaky toys, especially tennis balls. She does great in her kennel at night too. She loves giving kisses. She does get nippy when she is stressed out. She was nippy with people at the graduation party as everyone wanted to see the new dog. We had to separate her away from people and give her quiet time. We are changing her food to Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach as food she is on is still giving her tummy issues. She barks at everything and believes the backyard is hers and tells everyone that drives by. Lol. she even chases the bunnies out of the yard for me. She is still really skittish but not as bad as when she first got here. She likes to sit next to me or on my lap on the couch at night and sits in the doggy bed with Ruby, my Frenchie, while I work or chases her ball around the basement. She barks at the neighbor cat when he comes in the yard so I assume she would chase a cat like she does the bunnies. I think she would do well with children as long as they stayed out of her face. I'm am a super sweet frenchie puppy. I like everyone and I like the other dogs too. I am busy learning my house manners but I know I love lovin.I must have a fenced yard as I have never been on a leash. My name is Nelly and I will be 2 years old June 26th. I weigh about 18.4 pounds and my adoption fee is $750 plus $33.75 tax for a total of $783.75
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
