She was a breeder release mommy who evidently had numerous litters. She was spayed, updated on all shots and had dental cleaning on June 20,2025. She is now ready to be a part of her furever family. Can that be you? Olive has a very sweet temperament and now that she is in a home foster setting, she has discovered that she likes to snuggle next to a human. She will do best with at least one other dog in the household. As a breeder release, a fenced yard is a must. She does very well with going outside to potty with the other dogs. She still doesn't know what to do with stairs and is just now learning about a ramp, sleeping in a kennel overnight and walking on a leash. She likes to play with other dogs, and she doesn't bark a lot. Olive is not particularly food motivated but has learned to take treats which she gets when she comes in from doing her business and when getting into her crate. She currently eats NutriSource kibble mixed with a small amount of NutriSource canned food. She likes playing in the water bowl outside but isn't too messy in the house. Please consider making Olive a part of your household. She has lots of love to give. Olive is 4 years 8 months old, she weighs 21 pounds, her adoption fee is $400 + sales tax $18=$418 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental and microchipping.
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
