My family had big life changes and they weren't able to care for me anymore :( I am loving life in my foster home, my limited vision does not slow me down. I run all over my foster home's fenced yard, I love to play tug of war with toys as well as love to play fetch. I can't always find my toy if you throw it too far as I can't see it. I', great with older kids, smaller kids carry food around and I would grab it and if they got too close to my blind side I would growl at them. I am pretty energetic for a 12 year old 19 pound hunk a burnin' love. Can you be my furever home? I am 12 years young, I weigh 19 pounds, my adoption fee is $250 plus sales tax $11.26 = $261.25 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping.
Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
