Dakota Dachshund Rescue

Diane started doing fostering at the Sioux Falls Humane Society and then Pet Pals for Life. She had a passion for dachshunds. We noticed that the Sioux Falls area had a need for a dachshund rescue so her and I (Doug) started DDR. The response and need was much greater than we anticipated.

Meet Pumpkin

It's the holiday season and Pumpkin is looking to celebrate it with a new furever family of her very own. Pumpkin. Is a very happy girl. She loves to be with her family. She loves the other dogs. She will hop in her kennel all by herself. Her foster mom thinks she is amazing. She does need a fenced yard.  Pumpkin is about 5 years old and weighs about 9 pounds. Her adoption fee is $350 plus tax of $15.75 for a total of $365.75. 

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
