Meet Kayla Purple - A Ciri Pup

Date into Rescue: 9/21/2023 Reason for being in rescue: born into rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Kayla is up to date on vaccines for her age. Due to age, she is not spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract which requires you to spay her at your expense within 12 months. Kayla is a very young puppy that is not house-trained or crate-trained. She will need patience and proper training to accomplish both. Kayla's DNA results are in and she is a full standard poodle! Weight: 8 lbs and growing. We estimated Kayla will be 40 to 45 lbs when full grown.  Height: 23 in at the shoulder is our best guest when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Kayla requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Kayla requires a home with another active dog for socialization and play. We will not place Kayla in a home with senior dogs. The companion dog MUST be 8 years old or younger. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. She is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. Kayla will not be adopted to a home with children under 5. Poodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Poodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced-in yard will be required. Poodle puppies are very well-rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a poodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster. What is my personality like? Kayla was the tiny one of this group but tiny for Kayla means mighty.  She is spunky and sweet at the same time.  She can keep up with any of her bigger siblings and go for whatever her little heart desires. She is super cuddly as well.  Because she was the smallest girl, we made time for her individually with mom to insure she got all the milk she needed to grow.  It meant we also spent time with her, making sure all was well and she was suckling properly.  Kayla has known nothing but kindness from humans and she learned quickly that we meant food, security, warmth and love.   PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Kayla is ready to give you her heart and soul. She will love you deeply once she makes eye contact with you.  Other tips and tidbits: Kayla was born at the poodle farm on 9/21/2023.  There are 10 total puppies in the litter.  Please look for more of Kayla's siblings to be up for adoption soon.  House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
