Arcadia Animal Rescue

Arcadia Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization dedicated to alleviating the suffering of abused and abandoned animals. At Arcadia, animals are valued and the human-animal bond is celebrated. Our vision is a modern-day “Arcadia” or Utopia for all animals. While we know this is an ambitious goal, it is one we will tirelessly strive for. No animal should be euthanized to save space, because it is unwanted, or because of the inconvenience of care.

Meet Poncho - Urgent

**URGENT - Need immediate foster or adopter** This sweet boy was abandoned at the dog park and was brought into the shelter by an officer who had found him.  Poncho was pulled into rescue after being on the euthanasia list at a rural NC shelter.  He is in foster care and has done remarkably well.   The foster family reports that Poncho is very smart and learns quickly.  They have been doing basic training and he has responded well.  Poncho is active and seems to love other dogs. He may be overbearing to some dogs as he will be very interested in them. Poncho is estimated to be about 3-4 years old, currently up to date on his vaccinations, HW negative, and neutered. He LOVES car rides, people, and playing with other dogs. Poncho has high food drive, as well as high toy drive. He knows sit, down, place, leash pressure, and has great recall. He would fit well in a family with no kids (he does get very excited and may accidentally knock one of the kiddos over). Poncho is house trained and crate trained, a good eater and sleeps through the night without accidents.  This boy would make a great companion for a single active person or family without small children.  We recommend no cats and if you have dogs, they need to be tolerant of overzealous play.  He needs someone who will be consistent in training him, a family who will put time in this sweet boy, and allow him to get his energy out (he is a med-high energy dog) If interested, please contact Julie on 919 624 0059 or [email protected]
