Maude Schiffley Chapter S.P.C.A.

Our organization is the oldest pet welfare one in our community founded in 1957. Our board is 100% volunteer. We operate an Adoption Center in our rural community with the help of minimal paid staff and many volunteers. Primarily we provide shelter, medical and social rehabilitation, promote S/N, responsible pet ownership education, and permanent placement for abandoned pets in need in our community.

Meet Petunia

Surely it isn't true that everyone wants a puppy. There's a lot to be said for a mature three-year-old lady with perfect manners. I'm even housebroken. Let's hear you young pups say that! I think every dog deserves a good home, even those of us that aren't spring chickens anymore. I have many good years left and so much love to give. I only need someone to give me another chance at a good life.Petunia has already been spayed and is looking for her forever home! The adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations and deworming, Frontline application, spay or neuter surgery, collar, ID tag and a leash.  A $35 (non-refundable) deposit will hold the pet for you for 5 days.  The Shelter is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm, Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm, Friday from 10 am to 3 pm, the first and third Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and by appointment.  Call 803-536-3918 for more information or email at: [email protected]

Adoption Process
We interview potential adoption candidates, require applications, and have a formal adoption contract. Adoption fees vary based on challenges in placing some pets, but generally run from $95 to $130
