Meet King

Woof woof, folks! It's your pal, King, here to share a little piece of my journey with you. You know, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at us, doesn't it? But hey, I'm proof that even in the darkest of times, there's always a glimmer of hope. I'm a 3-year-old boxer mix, and my name is King—I guess you could say I'm on a quest to live up to that regal title. When they found me, I was a mess, scared of my own shadow. People had done some pretty awful things to me, things I'd rather not dwell on. But I made a promise to myself: never again would anyone hurt me. I built up walls, thick and tall, to keep the world at bay. But then, something changed. Slowly but surely, the kind souls here began to chip away at those walls. It wasn't easy—I'll admit, I'm still a bit wary. But I'm learning to trust again, one treat and belly rub at a time. And you know what? I'm even learning some cool tricks along the way! Now, here's the thing: I'm ready for my next adventure, and that means finding my forever home. I think I'd do best with a single person—a true friend who understands what it's like to have a tough shell but a soft heart underneath. So, are you ready to take a chance on a scrappy guy like me? If you are, come on down and meet me. Let's see if we're a match made in heaven. #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KingTheBoxer #ForeverHomeNeeded The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, Frontline application, spay or neuter surgery, collar, ID tag and a leash.  A $35 (non-refundable) deposit will hold the pet for you for 5 days.  The Shelter is open Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm, Friday 10am-3pm and the first and third Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.  Call 803-536-3918 for more information or email at: [email protected]
