The mission of the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is to find safe and permanent homes for abandoned animals, strive to reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to help educate the community about pet responsibility.Core values: To help ALL animals- Great and Small To feed the starving, and give shelter to the homeless To minister to the sick and ease the main of the injured ones To tend to the weak and helpless, and make each one as safe and comfortable as possible for as long as they may be in our care We will give them our time and loving attention and try to take the sadness and pain away from their frightened eyes We will socialize them with other animals and help them to trust and interact with human beings We will dedicate ourselves to finding loving and permanent homes for all in our care We will sterilize every animal adopted from our shelter in an effort to decrease the overpopulation of unwanted animals We will respect our furry friends and the community in which we serve and serve each one humanely and professionally.

Meet Alfred

Recently, we reached out to our incredible community to rally support for Alfred's surgery to remove a mass from his rectum. Thanks to your generosity and kindness, Alfred underwent the procedure and is now on the road to recovery. However, the biopsy results brought some difficult news – Alfred has been diagnosed with cancer. Though the prognosis is uncertain, what is crystal clear is that Alfred deserves to spend his remaining days surrounded by love and comfort, not in a shelter. We are once again calling upon you to help Alfred by sharing his story so we can find him a loving home! Alfred's resilient spirit shines brightly, and his zest for life is truly inspiring. Alfred embodies the essence of youthfulness, as he still frolics around with the energy of a puppy. No age or illness can dampen his enthusiasm for life! He delights in the simple joys of running around in the yard and basking in the warmth of human companionship. His gentle nature and affectionate demeanor make him a joy to be around, and he's sure to bring endless smiles to your face.   Alfred is the epitome of a true gentleman - he exudes warmth and kindness in every wag of his tail. His friendly nature makes him an ideal candidate for a loving family who can appreciate his calm demeanor and affectionate spirit. Adoption Process
$60 - $125 adoption fee Applicants are asked to fill out a questioner so that we know about their home/lifestyle. Depending on the circumstances, we may do a home visit or check veterinary references. We do require verification from landlords if an applicant rents. Applicants are required to sign an adoption contract agreeing to obey animal ordinances, provide proper exercise and care as well as veterinary care.
