Save the Strays Animal Rescue

Save the Strays has been rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs since 2003. Our goal is to find them new homes where they will be treated as cherished family members. Dogs that aren’t adoptable remain with us for as long as they live. We are an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue incorporated as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and public charity. All donations to our rescue are tax-deductible and are used solely to pay for our dogs’ care.

Meet Bandit

BANDIT is a Jack Russell terrier mix born at our rescue on March 5. He's playful, outgoing and ready for a home of his own. Bandit is old enough to begin crate and house training, but still needs frequent potty breaks. Socialization and stimulation – exposure to lots of new people, places, sights, smells and sounds – is also important at this age. For that reason, we’re looking for an adopter who won’t leave their pup alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time for the next few months and who can commit to giving him the attention, play, training and variety of experiences he needs to grow into a great adult dog. Ideal candidates are those who work from home, work only part-time, are retired or have a parent or spouse that is home while the applicant is at work. Another mature, well trained dog is a plus because they serve as wonderful role models for pups. Bandit had a complete series of “puppy” (DAPP) vaccinations, a rabies vaccine, has been wormed regularly and has received monthly heartworm, flea and tick prevention since the age of 8 weeks. His adoption fee is $250. To apply, please email [email protected] for our application.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application, provide references and be interviewed. If approved, they must sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee, which is refundable if a dog is returned to us within two weeks of the adoption date.
