Save the Strays Animal Rescue

Save the Strays has been rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs since 2003. Our goal is to find them new homes where they will be treated as cherished family members. Dogs that aren’t adoptable remain with us for as long as they live. We are an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue incorporated as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and public charity. All donations to our rescue are tax-deductible and are used solely to pay for our dogs’ care.

Meet Turk

TURK, an energetic 3-year-old shepherd mix, has been an outdoor dog most of his life. He’s wary of people but not at all aggressive. He just barks and backs away when you enter his pen to feed him or give him fresh water. He could be a good choice for someone who is just looking for a watch dog to alert them to approaching people. But we also think he could learn to trust people if someone spends time working with him.     Turk is healthy, up to date on vaccinations and neutered and gets along with other dogs. We’re waiving our adoption fee in hopes of finding him a home. If you’re interested, please email us for an application.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application, provide references and be interviewed. If approved, they must sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee, which is refundable if a dog is returned to us within two weeks of the adoption date.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
