Save the Strays Animal Rescue

Save the Strays has been rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs since 2003. Our goal is to find them new homes where they will be treated as cherished family members. Dogs that aren’t adoptable remain with us for as long as they live. We are an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue incorporated as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and public charity. All donations to our rescue are tax-deductible and are used solely to pay for our dogs’ care.

Meet Taffy

Meet Taffy, a puggle/boxer mix who is the very definition of sweet! At two years old and a trim 29 lbs., this knee-high, brindle-coated cutie is as friendly as they come. Her greatest joy is being with people, but her easy-going nature extends to other dogs, too. Energy-wise, Taffy is up for adventures, but she’s mellow enough to be a companion for those with a quieter lifestyle. She enjoys sniffing around the fenced yard here, but she’s more of an indoor dog so a couple of walks each day would suffice if you don’t have a fenced yard. After her walks, she’s ready to curl up on the couch with or without you. Taffy is house trained, passed her health exam with flying colors, is up to date on vaccinations and spayed. All she needs now is a forever home with someone who loves her. If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy dog, Taffy may be the one. Adoption fee $350, which includes a collar, harness and 6 months of heartworm prevention. Email us for an application. (Please don't use our online application. It is out of date and sometimes doesn't get delivered to us.)

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application, provide references and be interviewed. If approved, they must sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee, which is refundable if a dog is returned to us within two weeks of the adoption date.
